Two ways to connect

Click Connect on gains.trade and you now choose between two paths.

Instant wallet

One-click trading and gas covered by Gains. No confirmation on each action, no ETH needed. Log in with an email address, a social account, or a wallet you already own.

Your own wallet

The classic path. Connect MetaMask, Rabby, or another browser wallet, sign each transaction yourself, and pay your own gas.
You pick the path when you connect, and you can switch later by disconnecting.

The instant wallet path

Two things come bundled with the instant wallet, both active from the moment you log in:
  • One-click trading. Your orders are signed in the background, so no wallet popup interrupts your entry or your exit.
  • Gasless transactions. The network fee on each transaction your instant wallet sends is paid by Gains, so you do not need to hold ETH to trade.
There is no PIN to create, no delegate to approve, and no gas wallet to top up. That setup belongs to one-click trading, which is how you get popup-free trading on the other path.

Create one

1

Click Connect

Open gains.trade and click Connect.
2

Choose Create instant wallet

Pick Create instant wallet, the option tagged Fastest, rather than Connect your wallet.
3

Sign in with an email address, a social account such as Google, or a wallet you already own such as MetaMask or Phantom. Privy, our login provider, creates a self-custodial wallet for you. Gains never sees your password or your private keys.
4

Fund it and trade

Send collateral to your new address, or buy crypto directly in the app, then place your first order. No confirmation, no gas.
Signing in with an email address or a social account is what removes the confirmations, because the key that signs your orders is created for you and travels with your login. If you use an existing wallet as your login instead, gas is still covered, but that wallet is the key, so it keeps asking you to approve each action.

What is covered

Gains pays the network fee on the transactions your instant wallet sends while trading: opening and closing positions, placing and canceling limit orders, updating a stop loss or a take profit, token approvals, and deposits into and withdrawals from your account. Gasless changes who pays the network, not what a trade costs. Trading fees, spread, price impact, and borrowing fees are unchanged. See Fees and spread for what you actually pay on a position.

Supported networks

Instant wallets trade on Arbitrum, where gas is covered. Your instant wallet sits at the same address on every EVM chain, so you can also hold funds elsewhere and move them in. Gas is covered on Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism. On the other funding networks (Polygon, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche) the wallet pays its own gas from its balance on that network.

Your funds stay yours

An instant wallet is self-custodial. Gains does not hold your keys and cannot move your funds. Trades are recorded on-chain against your instant wallet address, exactly as they would be for any other wallet. To move funds out, open the account dropdown and click Withdraw.

The two paths side by side

How it works

Your login controls a smart account (an ERC-4337 account) deployed at the same address on every supported network. Instead of broadcasting a normal transaction, the app sends each action as a user operation, and a paymaster funded by Gains settles the gas with the network. Because the signing key belongs to your login rather than to a browser extension, the app signs your orders without asking you to approve a popup each time.

FAQ

No. Trading on Arbitrum from an instant wallet does not require any ETH. You only need collateral.
No. One-click trading removes the wallet confirmation. Gasless trading removes the network fee. An instant wallet gives you both at once, with no setup.
Only through the instant wallet path, where you can use that wallet as your login. If you take the second path and connect the wallet directly, you pay your own gas, and you can set up one-click trading to avoid confirming every transaction.
Yes. Opening fees, spread, price impact, and borrowing fees are unchanged. Only the network gas fee is covered.
No. Gas sponsorship pays for your transactions, it does not authorize anyone to send them. Only your login can sign, and Gains cannot open, close, or edit your positions.
