Profit goes to your wallet, and on a winning trade the Bonus comes back to trade again. Bonus is USDC that Gains credits to your account to use as trading margin. You open positions with it like with your own collateral. When a trade wins, the profit goes to your wallet as ordinary USDC and the Bonus returns in full to your Bonus balance, ready for the next trade. When a trade loses, the Bonus shrinks by its share of the loss. Bonus can be traded but never withdrawn. Bonus is available on **Arbitrum**, in **USDC**. ## How to earn Bonus Bonus is credited to your account through: * **Referrals**, as a reward from the [referral program](/referrals/transition). * **Cashback**, a share of the trading fees you pay, returned to you as Bonus. * **Special offers**, such as campaigns and promotions announced on the Gains channels. Your Bonus balance is not a token in your wallet. Once Bonus is credited, the amount you can use shows in the navigation bar on [gains.trade](https://gains.trade/trading) when your wallet is connected. ## Opening a trade with Bonus Connect the wallet your Bonus was credited to, and switch it to Arbitrum. In the trading panel, turn on the **Bonus** switch. The Bonus is spent first. If the position needs more collateral than your Bonus covers, the rest comes from your wallet's USDC, and the panel shows it as "+ amount wallet". Adding your own USDC needs a one-time approval. Pick your pair, direction and leverage, then press **Open long with Bonus** or **Open short with Bonus**. You can set a take profit and a stop loss at the same time. What a Bonus trade accepts: * **Market orders only.** Limit and stop orders cannot be opened with Bonus. * **Up to 500x leverage**, and never above the pair's own maximum. * **The pair's usual minimum collateral.** * **USDC collateral only**, and no counter trades. ## Managing a Bonus position Your open Bonus positions sit in the Positions tab like any other trade, with a **BONUS** badge. From there you can edit the take profit and stop loss, add or remove size, change the leverage, or close. A **Bonus** tab appears next to your positions once you have opened a Bonus trade. It shows three figures: * **Available**: Bonus you can use for a new trade. * **In trades**: Bonus currently used as margin in open positions. * **To claim**: closed positions whose payout is waiting for you. ## Closing and claiming When a Bonus position closes, whether you close it, a take profit or stop loss fires, or it is liquidated, the payout waits in the Bonus tab. Press **Claim** on the row, or **Claim all**, to split it: * **In profit**: the Bonus returns to your Bonus balance in full, and your profit, plus any USDC of your own you put in, goes to your wallet. * **At a loss**: what is left is shared between your Bonus balance and your wallet, in proportion to how much of each went in. * **Liquidated**: nothing is left to share, and the row stays as a record. | Opened with | Payout at close | Back to Bonus | To your wallet | | - | - | - | - | | 100 Bonus | 140 | 100 | 40 | | 100 Bonus + 100 own USDC | 260 | 100 | 160 | | 100 Bonus + 100 own USDC | 150 | 75 | 75 | Profit you withdraw from a Bonus position while it is still open stays with that position and is added to its payout, which is split as above when you claim. If an opening order is never filled, it times out and the row offers to recover it. Recovering cancels the order and returns the collateral, Bonus to your Bonus balance and your own USDC to your wallet, in two signatures. ## Good to know * **Bonus does not expire.** Unused Bonus stays in your balance until you trade it. * **Fees are paid from the position's collateral,** as on any trade. * **Each Bonus trade runs from its own dedicated account.** Your [Gains Credits](/loyalty-programs/gtrade-credits) tier and \$GNS staking discount do not apply to it, and its volume does not count toward your credits. * **Bonus trades do not enter trading contests.** * **Unused Bonus can be cancelled if abuse is identified.** Bonus already used in an open position is never touched.
